His Victory Over Death is an Example
for Those Who Love Him

John 14:19-21
A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me, and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. (NKJV)

It is getting close to Easter, and at this special time of year we turn our thoughts to the Lord Jesus Christ and His last few days on earth. And then, of course, to His death, burial, and resurrection.

We read in John 14:19-21: "A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me, and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."

You know as the Lord Jesus Christ spoke to His disciples assuring them that there would come a time when He would be parted from them. He also gave them the assurance that one day they would live again because He would live. They didn't understand when He told them He would die. They didn't understand when He told them His body would be resurrected three days later. But somehow or other, they believed that He (Jesus) was the Messiah, the beloved Son of God. And, they trusted Him even though they did not fully understand.

If we will trust in Jesus even though we don't fully understand all that is happening, we will know His peace and we will know His presence with us. He has promised us that if we love Him we will be loved by Him. What a wonderful thought - to be loved by God!

I am sure you could think of someone that you love very dearly. Someone that loves you very dearly and from that loved one you might often receive gifts or words of praise, adoration, compliments - whatever it might be - your loved one will show or demonstrate love in some way toward you. God has demonstrated His love toward us in a multiplicity of ways. In ways that will meet our everyday need in the beauty of nature around us, in strength for the day, in courage and wisdom. And we could go on and on because He loves us - because He is our Father, because Jesus lives we have hope of living again someday in heaven with Him and with His Father who loves Him and who loves you.
