Celebrating Ten Years

Psalm 103:1-2
Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

February 3, 2007 marked the 10th anniversary of Christian Counseling and Educational Services! In 1997 when we opened our doors for the first time, we had no way of knowing all of the wonderful things God would do in us, through us and for us as we provided individual, marriage and family counseling for thousands of people.

As I look back over these 10 years, several things stand out so very clearly. First, God is faithful. Never once have we ever had a need that hasn’t been met in one way or another. He’s done it for us and we’ve seen Him do it for others. Even through the hard times, He is unfailing.

Second, God’s ways are perfect. I’m convinced now more than ever that if we do things God’s way, they will work. By specific explanation or by general principles, the Bible gives us the guidance and direction we need for every day living. For every relationship, for every struggle, God’s Word points the way.

Third, serving God is fun! It’s a joy to watch Him work in the lives of others—and our own. It’s exciting to try new things all along the way like Bible studies, seminars and workshops, producing videos and cable TV programs, and now our website and weekly devotionals.

Fourth, God’s love and grace are always available. His arms are always open to welcome and receive everyone who comes to Him. I’ve never seen Him turn anyone away.

My list could go on and on . . . God’s timing is impeccable. God’s wisdom is perfect. God’s strength is sufficient. God’s power is unlimited. God’s peace defies understanding. But there’s one last thing: God’s people are a blessing. To all of you who have blessed my heart and life during these 10 years, I thank you and I appreciate you. May you know His peace and joy in abundance.

Blessed Lord, we praise and adore You for all of Your goodness to us. We remember Your many kindnesses to us and we are amazed, excited and humbled. In the good times and in the hard times, You are God and You are good.
